New Eclectic Releases from Africa and the Diaspora (VII)

September's playlist is a superb mix of soul, gqom, bass, and more.

The playlist kicks off with 'Hover' off the Sheila EP by Durban's Umaah which is released on Subterranean Wavelength and produced by Mirc. Pluto (a producer who is getting more and more impressive work under his belt). Also on this month's playlist is Joshua Ananaba a.k.a 7th - a Nigerian singer and songwriter. "I Know" is off the heart-wrenching, affectingly vulnerable new EP titled Easy Love Music (Vol 1.)

Nairobi stands out this month as a memorable music destination with new releases from Mumbi ("Intro"), Karun (with the Trap-infused R&B track "High") and beatmaker KNVL ("my wxrds"). KNVL has received support from Soulection, with his beats featuring on two of the USA-based independent music platform's radio shows. Rounding off the highlights of September's playlist is Three Witches out of Cape Town, here featuring Mx Blouse on their latest offering "Ready or Not".
