Style at LPO Fest 2017

The first Lets Play Outside (LPO) festival happened last weekend on the 24th of September. The festival, one of the firsts of its kind, was established by Mpumelelo "Frypan" Mfula, Kgomotso "Kiggy" Kholoane, Sandile "Sanza" Mhlongo and Sibusiso "Computa" Nhleko in order to cement the spirit of collaboration and to legitimize the young creatives and the work of their peers in a way that put street artists in the best position and spaces to grow their work, through collaboration with one another.

In reflecting back to the festival, founding member Kiggy states that one of the highlights was, "seeing people supporting local, which was one of the biggest reasons we wanted to put something like this together."

The festival was created as result of wanting to celebrate and wrap up the season of tours and collaborations that the team had put together. Through the planning and the work the team kept doing, they realized the enthusiasm and momentum organically building around the Let's Play Outside's Philosophy ( "play together, win together"). Then they had a moment where they knew they had to go big.
